The report finds shipment volume of the Taiwanese wrist wearable industry declined considerably in the first quarter but is anticipated to have grown nearly 18% sequentially in the second quarter of 2017. The double-digit growth was mainly attributed to the increasing adoption of smartwatches and smartbands and the increasing shipments to brands such as Garmin, Fossil, and Switzerland traditional watchmakers. Nevertheless, the industry will likely to continue to witness a steady double-digit growth in shipment volume and value throughout 2017 as Taiwan's customers continue to demonstrate strong ambition in developing new distribution channels and regional markets.
