This has been especially helpful for the aviation industry, as it allows pilots to land in low-visibility conditions. Furthermore, in 2021, the European Space Agency (ESA) launched its second-generation SBAS system, called EGNOS v3. The system provides correction data to GPS, Galileo, and GLONASS signals, improving accuracy to within 1 meter across Europe. This has been helpful for a wide range of applications, including aviation, maritime navigation, and land-based transportation.

Similarly, in August 2019, Raytheon Technologies Corporation awarded a contract by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to provide SBAS capabilities for the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). WAAS is a GPS-based navigation system that provides enhanced accuracy and integrity for aviation, maritime, and land-based users.Also, in February 2020, Raytheon Technologies Corporation awarded a contract by the U.S. Air Force to provide SBAS capabilities for the Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE) program.
