The Taiwanese Desktop PC Industry 1Q 2018

The report finds that the Taiwanese desktop PC industry grew 2.1% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2017, with shipment volume reaching 12.2 million units. The growth is ascribed to the global economic pickup, the slight increase in commercial replacement demand toward the end of 2017, and deferred shipments to the fourth quarter. Looking forward, thanks to the commercial replacement demand and continued growth in the gaming market, the global desktop PC market decline is expected to eventually halt in 2018.
