This research finds that global motherboard shipment volume totaled 114.5 million units in 2016, representing a 12.2% decline year-on-year, as majority of motherboard makers were struggling with their inventory levels during the year. Fueled by the new CPU rollouts, it is anticipated that the global motherboard shipment decline will slow down in 2017 and the industry will have a more sustained pickup in growth, starting from the second quarter of 2017.
