The Taiwanese IP Camera Industry, 1Q 2017

The report finds that the global IP camera industry's shipment volume in the second half of 2016 grew merely 1% year-on-year to about 2.8 million units, owing to the deferred shipments of new rollouts. Nevertheless, the industry's full year shipment volume in 2016 still managed to grow at 4.4% to about 5.3 million units compared to 2015. With the resolution of IP cameras moving towards 2MP and 3MP, the consolidated share of 2MP and 3MP IP cameras reached about 35.5% in the fourth quarter of 2016, up from 25.1% in the same quarter of 2015. The industry's shipment volume is forecast to have declined considerably in the first quarter of 2017 but is likely to resume growth momentum in the second and third quarter.
