January 2023, To allow high-speed, high-capacity communications for 5G Advanced and 6G networks, NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) has created a power amplifier that will act as a crucial component for mobile access & backhaul/fronthaul wireless communication equipment. The maximum output power (*) in the 150 GHz band has been attained by this power amplifier using mass-producible GaAs technology. NEC hopes to take advantage of this by accelerating both equipment development & societal implementation. By utilizing its expertise in high-frequency bands developed through the creation and use of radio equipment for the 5G base stations & PASOLINK, an incredibly small microwave communication system that links base stations via wireless communication, NEC continues to advance technological development.
