The preparation process of PMI foam mainly includes low-temperature bulk polymerization and high-temperature foaming, reactive extrusion foaming, etc. In the aerospace field, PMI foam is commonly used as sandwich materials for aircraft structures, such as wing leading edge, rudder, landing gear door, wing body and wing tip fairing. In addition, PMI foam is also used to manufacture helicopter blades, which can improve the service life of blades and reduce manufacturing costs.
