A closed phototransistor is an optoelectronic device used to detect light signals, also known as a phototransistor. Similar to ordinary transistors, phototransistors also have three electrodes: emitter, base and collector. The photosensitive element in a closed phototransistor is usually encapsulated in a sealed shell by photosensitive material to protect the photosensitive element from pollution and damage in the environment. The working principle of the phototransistor is based on the response of the photosensitive material to the light signal. When the light signal shines on the photosensitive material, the photon energy excites the electrons in the material, generating electron and hole pairs. These pairs of electrons and holes are separated by an applied electric field, creating an electric current between the emitter and collector. Therefore, the current between the collector and emitter of the phototransistor is proportional to the intensity of the optical signal.
