The feeding robot travels on a rail across the farm to feed additives to cattle, swine, horses, poultry animals. The feeding robot docks onto a power rail in order to charge the batteries and to be able to drive into the feed kitchen and carry out mixing on mains voltage. This gives the robot extra capacity and prolongs the lifespan of the batteries. To navigate, the robot uses an antenna that follows an induction wire or transponders in the floor. This makes it possible to operate without any need for a rail, even between different buildings and across farmyards.
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, food from livestock contributes 34% of protein and 17% of calorie intake in the global diet. With a projected world population of 10 billion by 2050, demand for livestock products is projected to grow by 39%. The OECD estimated that global meat production increased by 5% in 2021 to approximately 339 million tons, and import amount reached 40 million tons. Major meat exporting countries such as Brazil, the European Union and the United States meet most of the import demand. Meat consumption is expected to increase in the coming years as population and per capita income grow. China is the world"s largest meat consumer and producer. The China Agricultural Outlook Report (2023-2032) shows that China"s meat production and consumption have maintained growth. During the period of next ten years, with the gradual transformation and upgrading of the meat industry, the supply capacity of the livestock and poultry industry will increase, and the output will maintain growth. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the added value of China"s agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery reached ¥9,258.2 billion in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%, accounting for 7.65% of GDP. The animal husbandry industry grew steadily throughout the year. The annual output of pork, beef, mutton and poultry was 92.27 million tons, an increase of 3.8% over the previous year.
