Manufacturing typically involves preparing a drug-in-matrix formulation, filling or casting into micro-molds (often with tip-loading or layered casting), controlled drying to lock in dose and stability, demolding and lamination to a backing/adhesive, and rigorous QC for dose uniformity, mechanical strength/insertion performance, residual moisture, particulate/bioburden, and stability, followed by validated packaging and distribution that often emphasizes humidity protection.
