The unit cell contains six formula units of LiNbO₃. The blackening process has a significant impact on the optical, electrical, piezoelectric and electro-optical properties of the wafer. For example, the blackening process can reduce the pyroelectric effect and light transmittance of the wafer, and significantly improve the conductivity and blackening uniformity of the wafer.
