The raw material composition of automotive carbon fiber reinforced polypropylene (CF/PP) includes: polypropylene (homogeneous or copolymer), chopped carbon fibers, and an interface treatment system (a sizing agent containing double bonds and hydroxyl groups + isocyanate curing agent, maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene compatibilizer, and peroxide initiator). The carbon fibers must first undergo electrochemical oxidation and impregnation in a special sizing agent to form chemical bonds and physical entanglement with PP during extrusion, achieving high interfacial adhesion. The cost structure is based on 30... Taking wt% short-fiber CF/PP injection molding granules as an example: T300 grade short-cut carbon fiber costs approximately 90-110 RMB/kg, accounting for 30% of the formulation mass, but contributing 60-65% of the total cost; copolymer PP matrix costs approximately 8 RMB/kg, accounting for 60-65% of the mass, but only 20-25% of the cost; sizing agent + compatibilizer + initiator and other additives total 5-8 RMB/kg, accounting for approximately 10%; extrusion, granulation and loss amortization cost 5-7 RMB/kg, accounting for 5-8%, providing automakers with a lightweight solution that reduces weight by 30% without increasing costs.
