The metal oxide monitoring ammonia sensor is a gas sensor based on metal oxide materials, which is specially used to detect the ammonia concentration in the environment. The core materials of the metal oxide monitoring ammonia sensor are metal oxides, such as tin dioxide (SnO2), molybdenum trioxide (MoO3), titanium oxide (TiO2), etc. These materials have highly active surface sites that can adsorb ammonia molecules and react chemically with them. When ammonia molecules undergo chemical adsorption reactions with the metal oxide materials on the surface of the sensor, it causes electron transfer on the surface of the material, resulting in changes in the electrical signal. Specifically, the nitrogen atoms in the ammonia molecules form bonds with the oxygen atoms on the surface of the metal oxide to form adsorption products of ammonia molecules. The formation of adsorption products causes electron transfer on the surface of the material, which in turn causes changes in the charge distribution on the surface of the sensor. By measuring the potential difference or current change caused by this change in charge distribution, the sensor can obtain information on the ammonia concentration.
