Heat treatment is one of the four basic processes (forging, casting, heat treatment and surface treatment) in the equipment manufacturing industry. The heat treatment process is divided into overall heat treatment, surface heat treatment, and chemical heat treatment. Overall heat treatment can be divided into 8 processes, including annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, and tempering. Surface heat treatment is a metal heat treatment process that only heats the surface of the workpiece to change its surface mechanical properties. It is mainly divided into 5 processes, including surface quenching and tempering, physical vapor deposition, etc. Chemical heat treatment is a metal heat treatment process that changes the chemical composition, structure and properties of the surface of the workpiece. It is mainly divided into 7 processes, including carburizing, nitriding, carbonitriding, and metal infiltration.
Industrial heat treatment furnaces can be divided into batch (intermittent) and continuous heat treatment furnaces according to different operation modes, and can be divided into box furnaces, mesh belt furnaces, pusher furnaces, roller furnaces, rotary hearth furnaces, pit furnaces and bell furnaces according to different furnace structures. Heat treatment is one of the four basic processes in the equipment manufacturing process and is widely used in industrial industries such as automobiles, mechanical basic parts, and aerospace. It can ensure and improve various properties of workpieces, such as strength, hardness, plasticity, toughness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, etc.; it can also improve the organization and stress state of the blank to facilitate various cold and hot processing.
Batch (intermittent) heat treatment furnace is a commonly used heat treatment equipment, which can process workpieces in batches. The equipment usually consists of one or more furnaces, each of which can accommodate a batch of workpieces. During the heat treatment process, the workpiece is placed in the furnace, then heated to a certain temperature for treatment, and finally taken out after cooling. Batch heat treatment equipment is suitable for processing small batches of workpieces. Because only one batch of workpieces can be processed at a time, the processing time is relatively long. It is usually used for heat treatment processes such as quenching, tempering, and annealing of workpieces. The advantages of batch heat treatment equipment are simple operation and wide application range. It can process workpieces of various materials and shapes. At the same time, due to the small number of workpieces processed each time, the quality and heat treatment effect of the workpiece can be better controlled. Compared with continuous furnaces, batch equipment has greater flexibility.
Continuous heat treatment furnaces usually consist of a continuously running conveying system and a series of heat treatment process equipment. The working principle of continuous heat treatment equipment is to continuously feed metal materials into the heating furnace through the conveying system for heating, then maintain a certain insulation time, then cool it through the cooling equipment, and finally take the processed materials out of the equipment. Continuous heat treatment equipment can be used for various heat treatment processes, such as annealing, quenching, tempering, etc. It has the advantages of high efficiency, energy saving, high degree of automation, etc., and is suitable for mass production of metal products processing industry.
There are many types of industrial heat treatment furnaces, which can be mainly divided into batch (intermittent) and continuous types. At present, from the perspective of market application, batch (intermittent) is widely used, suitable for small and medium-sized batch production of workpieces of multiple specifications, accounting for about 68% of the market share.
