A Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) is a critical component in nuclear power plants, responsible for circulating the coolant (typically water) through the nuclear reactor to absorb and transport the heat generated by the nuclear fission process. This circulation is essential to prevent the reactor from overheating and ensures that the heat can be transferred efficiently to steam generators or other heat exchangers for power production.
Nuclear power is one of the cleanest, safest, most efficient and smallest forms of energy. It has incomparable advantages and an indispensable role in addressing global climate change, promoting green energy transformation and ensuring energy security. Since the world's first nuclear power plant was put into operation in the 1950s, the peaceful use of nuclear energy has been playing an important role in promoting global economic and social development. Among them, 21 nuclear power units in Japan were suspended, with a total installed capacity of 20.588 million kilowatts, and 4 nuclear power units in India, with a total installed capacity of 640,000 kilowatts. By the end of 2023, 57 nuclear power units were under construction in 18 countries around the world, with a total installed capacity of approximately 59.867 million kilowatts.
