Aluminum, as a +3 valence element, diffuses into silicon to form a P+ layer, forming a high-low junction with P-type silicon, hindering the diffusion of electrons to the back, thereby reducing back recombination. 3) Conductivity. The atomic radii of aluminum and silicon are close, and they diffuse into each other at a certain temperature to form an alloy junction, that is, an ohmic contact, and the contact resistance is reduced. The fine grid aluminum paste used in PERC cells has two functions: 1) Doping. The local aluminum paste contacts the P+ layer in the PERC structure, which acts as a back field and reduces the back recombination rate. 2) Conductivity. Aluminum and silicon dissolve each other to form local point contacts.
