Thin film deposition refers to the deposition of specific materials on the substrate to form a thin film with special optical, electrical and other properties. Film deposition equipment can be divided into physical vapor deposition (PVD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and atomic layer deposition (ALD) equipment according to different process principles, and can be divided into batch (tubular) and space (plate) technology routes according to different equipment forms. ALD technology is a special vacuum film deposition method, which has a high technical barrier. Through ALD coating equipment, the substance can be deposited on the substrate surface layer by layer in the form of monatomic layer. Each coating is an atomic layer. According to the atomic characteristics, the coating is about 1nm for 10 times/layer. Because the surface chemical reaction of ALD technology is self limited, it has a number of unique film deposition characteristics: 1. Three dimensional conformality, widely applicable to substrates of different shapes; 2. Uniformity of large-area film formation, and compact, without pinholes; 3. It can realize sub nanometer film thickness control. Based on the above characteristics, ALD technology is widely applicable to film deposition in different scenarios, and has good industrialization prospects in many high-end and cutting-edge fields such as photovoltaic, semiconductor, flexible electronics and other new displays, MEMS, catalysis and optical devices.
