Electric Locomotive Power System Market

The power system of an electric locomotive refers to the system in the electric locomotive that is responsible for converting electrical energy into mechanical energy and driving the wheels through the transmission device. This system is the core part of the electric locomotive to achieve operation and is directly related to the power performance, operating efficiency and safety of the locomotive. The power supply system of an electric locomotive is responsible for supplying the electrical energy of an external power supply to the traction power supply system inside the locomotive. Common power supply methods include overhead line power supply and third rail power supply, among which overhead line power supply is the most commonly used power supply method for electric locomotives. The traction power supply system converts the electrical energy provided by the power supply system into mechanical energy to drive the wheels. The traction power supply system is usually composed of a traction converter, electromechanical equipment and a transmission device. The traction converter is responsible for converting DC power into AC power and then supplying it to the electromechanical equipment; the electromechanical equipment adjusts the output torque and speed according to the changes in the control signal, and then drives the transmission device to transmit power to the wheels.
