Cement-based spray-applied fire resistive materials are a type of fireproof coating mainly composed of cement as the binder, which also contain inorganic lightweight thermal insulation aggregate materials such as expanded perlite and vermiculite, fire retardants, chemical agents, reinforcing materials and fillers. They are applied to the surface of substrates by spraying. When exposed to fire, these materials rely on their non-combustibility, low thermal conductivity, or the heat absorption of the materials in the coating to delay the temperature rise of the substrates, thus protecting the substrates from fire damage and improving their fire resistance limit. They are widely used in the fire protection of building steel structures, tunnels, beams, columns, walls and floors made of reinforced concrete.
