In a closed-tube X-ray source, the cathode and anode/target are enclosed in a vacuum tube. There is no need to vacuum during use. The high voltage of closed-tube X-ray tubes is generally between 30 and 150 kV. The target power can reach 75 W. The service life cycle is about 3 years. It is commonly used in integrated circuits, electronic manufacturing, and new energy. Battery and other precision testing fields; the open tube is equipped with a vacuum pump and vacuum valve, and the cathode and anode/target of the open tube can be replaced. The high voltage of open X-ray tubes is generally between 30 and 225 kV, and the target power can reach 25 W. The tube opening has high precision and parts can be replaced, but the initial equipment purchase cost is high, and it is mostly used in scientific research fields or integrated circuit fields with higher requirements. The open-tube microfocus ray source has the characteristics of smaller focus size, higher maximum tube voltage, higher magnification and stronger penetration, but at the same time it has disadvantages in terms of cost performance, maintenance cost, service life and start-up time. At present, closed-tube microfocus ray sources are still the main choice for precision X-ray inspection fields such as integrated circuits, electronic manufacturing, and new energy batteries.
