The electro-optic modulator prepared in the LNOI wafer has small size, high bandwidth, low Vπ, and high integration, which is obviously superior to the electro-optic modulator of the traditional lithium niobate bulk material.
Thin-film lithium niobate modulators have the advantages of large bandwidth, low power consumption, and small size, and are expected to become an important development direction of modulators in the future. Compared with other optoelectronic materials, such as indium phosphide (limited cost), silicon photonics (limited performance and power consumption), and lithium niobate crystal (limited size), thin-film lithium niobate can achieve ultra-fast electro-optic effect and high integration High-degree optical waveguide has excellent characteristics such as large bandwidth, low power consumption, low loss, and small size, and can realize large-scale wafer-scale manufacturing.
