It is polymerized from m-xylylenediamine and adipic acid, and its structure contains aromatic rings, giving it higher strength, rigidity, heat resistance, and extremely low permeability to oxygen and carbon dioxide compared to traditional nylons (such as PA6/PA66).The core upstream raw material is m-xylylenediamine (MXDA), whose production involves high-pressure catalytic hydrogenation of isophthalonitrile. This core technology has long been controlled by a few international giants, such as Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC) in Japan.

On the one hand, the global demand for reduced preservative use is driving the packaging industry to adopt high-barrier materials.
