Quartz sand is a quartz particle made by crushing, screening, acid washing, water washing, calcination and other processes of quartz stone. In China, it is generally subdivided based on the different silicon dioxide and iron oxide contents of quartz sand, mainly divided into ordinary quartz sand, refined quartz sand, high-purity quartz sand, and ultra-high purity quartz sand. The preparation methods of quartz sand mainly include natural crystal processing, mineral purification, and chemical synthesis. The current mainstream method for preparing high-purity quartz sand in the industry is mineral purification, which purifies naturally high-purity quartz raw materials into high-purity quartz sand. The raw materials mainly come from mineral resources such as vein quartz, quartzite, fine quartz, and pegmatite. Due to the high requirements for the purity and impurities of quartz ore and quartz raw materials in mineral purification methods, the global resources of high-purity quartz sand raw materials that meet purification standards are limited.
