Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EPROM) is a type of non-volatile memory that retains data when the power supply is turned off. It allows for data to be programmed and erased multiple times.
EPROM can be programmed by injecting charge into a floating gate within the memory cell using a higher voltage than normally used in digital circuits. The stored data in an EPROM chip can be erased by exposing it to strong ultraviolet (UV) light for a specific period.
