QSFP-DD, a dual-density quad small form-factor pluggable high-speed module, is currently the preferred packaging for 800G optical modules, allowing data centers to efficiently scale cloud capacity as needed. QSFP-DD modules feature an 8-channel electrical interface, with each channel supporting rates of up to 25Gb/s (NRZ modulation) or 50Gb/s (PAM4 modulation), providing solutions of up to 200Gb/s or 400Gb/s. OSFP is a new optical module that is much smaller than CFP8 but slightly larger than QSFP-DD, featuring 8 high-speed electrical channels and supporting up to 32 OSFP ports per 1U front panel. Paired with integrated heat sinks, it can greatly enhance thermal performance.
