Variable Conductance Heat Pipes Market

Variable conductance heat pipes (VCHP) are a type of heat pipe technology that can vary their conductance according to temperature changes. VCHPs are used for thermal management in various applications, such as automotive, aerospace, and electronics.
VCHPs work by using a wick structure that allows the transport of working fluid (usually water or alcohol) to the evaporator end of the heat pipe. As the working fluid evaporates and absorbs heat, the conductivity of the VCHP increases. On the other hand, when the temperature at the evaporator end falls or if there is insufficient heat input, the liquid flows back to the condenser end of the heat pipe, reducing its conductance.
